Sports Podge 2017

A whopping 12 years of Sports Podge has been reached this year, starting its life as a group of 80 at Langhans Brasserie with a real football bias its since grown arms and legs and is now an annual gathering of 250 guests from across all sports and businesses.

This year's theme was Tennis and the AELTC were fantastic in providing access to everthing Wimbledon had to offer, from umpire chairs to historic programmes, VR headsets to museum artifacts. We also had the incredible Josh Berry, Oxford student by day, world famous tennis impressionist by night. He did a set with Matt Lorenzo, taking on the greats of tennis.

The lunch had one of the best line-up's yet with a real tennis flavour, from Pat Cash, Greg Rusedski and Anne Keothavong to the LTA, AELTC and Scottish Tennis. Our partners included Coutts, Maserati, Crowe Clark Whitehill, PSD, Tata Communications and Getty Images and they helped make the day a fun and enjoyable affair, lending support wherever needed.

We also had the Sports Podge Quiz, where all the answers were guests in the room. From Olympic records to No.1 Albums, to weird and wonderful facts, it was a great way to get to know your team mates. And the winners all got a signed Andy Murray tennis ball, gifted to them by Josh Berry as Murray.
