Sports Podge 2013
The theme for the 2013 sportspodge lunch was RUGBY, with creative compliments of the great minds of David Judge, Darren and the team at StartJG and brought to life online by their partners in the project, PJ Jones and his Ignition team. A capacity of 240 attended the lunch at the Nash Room in the Institute of Directors on Pall Mall. As always a waiting list was in place from a month before the lunch.
Several sporting legends always help bring the sports theme to life and with rugby we were fortunate enough to have a room full of them. From Lawrence Dallaglio OBE, Will Greenwood MBE, Martin Corry MBE, Brian Moore, Martin Bayfield and Andrew Gomersall MBE to Tessa Sanderson CBE, Dame Tessa Jowell, Terry Venables, Jason Gardner MBE, Big Sam Allardyce and many others.
In keeping with the rugby theme we had a performance from Laura Wright singing Jerusalem to get the lunch started with a bang as people like Ade Adepitan MBE, Karen Pickering MBE, Mark Foster, Sophie Hosking MBE, Mark Hunter MBE, David Dein and a room full of sporting big wig’s looked on and admired Laura who was recovering from a knee operation and using a crutch to balance whilst singing. Amazing lady.
