Sports Podge 2012
The theme for the 2012 sportspodge lunch was Alternative World Records compliments of the great minds of Darren Whittingham and his team at StartJG in Soho and brought to life online by their partners in the project Naked Penguin Boy. A capacity of 220 attended the lunch at the Nash Room in the Institute of Directors on Pall Mall.
As always we try and invite several sporting guests who help bring the sports theme to life and with the world record theme we were fortunate enough to have a room full of them. From Boris Becker & Ed Moses to Dee Caffari MBE & Sally Kettle, John McGuinness and Shaun Baker and many others. The Guinness World Record team attended this year’s lunch and presented the six named above with special certificates for world records that have never been beaten. The room was also brightened up by some sports personalities and luminaries such as Robbie Savage, John Barnes, Chris Coleman, David Dein, Carolyn McCall MBE, swimmers Karen Pickering MBE and Mark Foster, athlete Dalton Grant, Brian Moore and many others from the world of sport.
