The theme for 2010 sports podge lunch was Roy of the Rovers. Compliments of the creative minds at Navyblue and digital agency Naked Penguin Boy who collaborated on bringing Roy back to life in a fantastically designed sports lunch with a strong football theme. 170 guests arrived at The Institute of Directors on Pall Mall for the annual sports podge lunch.
Who better to attend this particular lunch than Roy of the Rovers himself, Alan Shearer, who came along as a guest of Wassermans and amidst a room full of great names in sport some special mentions go out to Sharron Davies, Dame Kelly Holmes, Will Greenwood, Mark Foster, Lawrie McMenemy, David Bedford and footie legends Dion Dublin and Pat Nevin. The theme followed every item of design collateral including some life size Roy of the Rovers artworks with holes cut out of the faces for some great photo opportunities. Watching swimmer Karen Pickering MBE jokingly puckering up to sports presenter Natalie Pinkham was indeed a sight to behold. Impressionist Kevin Connelly did a short session between courses and did some hilarious take-offs of people in the room. All great fun and one of the best themes yet for a sports podge lunch. What will 2011 bring?
