Sports Podge 2009

The theme for 2009 sports podge lunch was Boxing. Compliments of the graphic design students at Epsom College and brought to life by the creative minds at Navyblue and digital agency Naked Penguin Boy. 160 guests arrived at The Institute of Directors on Pall Mall for the annual sports podge lunch.

Who better to attend this particular lunch than the UK's only unbeaten boxing champion Joe Calzaghe, and amidst a room full of great names in sport some special mentions go out to John Conteh, Craig Johnston, Gabby and Kenny Logan, David Hemery and Major Phil Packer. The theme followed every item of design collateral including some life size boxing artworks with holes cut out of the faces for some great photo opportunities. Every menu on each table had a front cover from a different fight and when everyone moved around half way through the lunch they moved onto the tables for that particular fight. The great Johnny Conteh even persuaded one of the local boxing organizations to donate a bell that could be rung between courses, great fun.
